01 / SPECIFICATION REVIEW
Identify what the rating applies to
Ask whether the quoted figure is per shelf, per side, per bay or for the complete row. A single number without this basis does not define a usable configuration.
- Per shelf / side / bay / row
- Selected shelf size, span and support arrangement
02 / SPECIFICATION REVIEW
Ask about load distribution
If a figure is described as UDL, ask the supplier to explain the required distribution across the shelf. Heavy items concentrated in one area need separate review; do not treat all loading patterns as equivalent.
- Distribution and placement of merchandise
- Point loads and concentrated loads
- Total load across all levels
03 / SPECIFICATION REVIEW
Check the evidence and conditions
Request the relevant test or engineering basis for the actual combination of shelf, bracket, upright and base. Installation, anchoring and floor conditions can affect the permitted use.
- Model, revision and tested assembly
- Installation and fixing conditions
- Limits, maintenance and inspection requirements
04 / SPECIFICATION REVIEW
Give your supplier useful information
Provide typical item weights, intended quantities and shelf placement. If a configuration changes, ask for the capacity basis to be reviewed before use.
- The GR80C range is listed at 60–120 kg per shelf depending on configuration. Confirm the selected build and loading conditions in your quotation.
- Final figures require product-specific engineering confirmation.
