If you've ever asked a shelving supplier for a price and waited days for a reply full of follow-up questions, you're not alone. Most quote delays have nothing to do with the factory being slow — they happen because key information is missing.
Prepare the eight items below before you reach out so your supplier can review the configuration and pricing with fewer follow-up questions.
1. What type of store are you fitting out?
A supermarket, convenience store, pharmacy, or hardware shop each needs a different product mix. Supermarkets typically combine double-sided island gondolas,single-sided wall units, end caps, checkout counters, and produce displays. State your store type and the supplier starts from the right mix instead of guessing.
2. Is it a new store, or are you adding to an existing one?
New stores usually need a full-store plan — this is where afree 3D shelving layout helps you visualise the store. If you're adding to an existing store, share the dimensions of your current units so the new bays match. Mismatched heights and depths look unprofessional and waste selling space.
3. Your store dimensions — or better, a floor plan
Length × width and ceiling height determine how many bays fit, which heights work, and how the aisles should run. A simple floor plan(even a hand sketch with measurements) lets the supplier calculate quantities and prepare an initial shelving layout and a clearer quotation.
4. What will you display — heavy goods or light goods?
Share product weights, quantities per shelf and the way goods will be arranged. The GR80C range is listed at 60–120 kg per shelf, depending on the selected configuration. Confirm the shelf, bracket, span and loading conditions in the quotation; heavy or concentrated loads need specific review.
5. Single-sided, double-sided, or both — and preferred sizes
Single-sided units go against walls;double-sided units form the aisles. State the bay width, upright height, base and upper shelf depths, and shelf count per side. Distinguish shelf depth from the overall double-sided footprint, and say whether your level count includes the base shelf. Use our product pages to select GR80C dimensions, or ask for a recommendation based on your merchandise and floor plan.
6. Color requirements
Standard white, grey, or black keeps cost and lead time down. Custom colors are possible but add cost and production time — decide early so it doesn't hold up your project later.
7. Approximate quantity and destination port
GONDORACK has no minimum order quantity. Share the approximate number of bays and your destination country, port or delivery address so we can review packing and freight. EXW, FOB, CNF or DDP terms can be discussed; the quotation confirms the named destination and what is included.
8. When do you need the goods?
Production scheduling is real. Standard orders run on normal lead times; urgent orders may need adjusted scheduling. Share your timeline upfront so the supplier commits to a delivery date it can actually meet.
